Description

The 2026 Lion and the Eagle 1oz Gold Coin introduces a brand new bullion reverse for 2026, uniting two national symbols in a single composition. The British lion is shown advancing across the ground with a wind-swept mane and prominent claws, while the American eagle appears above in flight, wings spread and head turned as it descends into the scene. The surrounding legend reads "THE LION AND THE EAGLE" with the date, and the coin is marked "1oz FINE GOLD 999.9".

Minted in 1 troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold, the coin’s specifications are presented plainly on the reverse, alongside the 2026 date. As a UK legal tender gold coin with a face value of £100 it is exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents and is VAT-free in the UK as investment gold.
